AGT manages two wheat quality laboratories, one at the Waite Campus, led by Senior Laboratory Manager Lee Mosionek and the other at Narrabri, by Senior Wheat Breeder Dr Meiqin Lu.

Both laboratories are fully equipped with Junior Quadromat and Buhler mills, farinographs, extensographs, mixographs, flour colour, ash, falling number measurement, bread baking and noodle-making capability

AGT also routinely uses high and low molecular weight glutenin, sedimentation, whole grain NIR, and molecular markers in the selection of new varieties with improved end use quality selection.
