AGT and its predecessors have more than a century of experience in plant breeding, plant breeding related research, and commercial variety development.  Now operating in a commercial structure, AGT aims to enhance the rate and scale of genetic gain through new varieties and in doing so contribute proactively to the long term viability of the Australian grains industry.  AGT's success depends on its ability to meet the current and future needs of Australian growers and their markets, so our focus is very much on delivering value to growers.

With comprehensive wheat breeding operations based at regional centres within each of Australia's four major wheat production zones, we are regionally focused, yet truly a national grower benefit driven enterprise.

AGT varieties are protected under Plant Breeders Rights (PBR), with end point royalties collected on production re-invested in delivering ongoing improvements in the productivity and profitability of the Australian grains industry.
